Monsanto's use of cancer-causing Glyphosate has again stirred up discussions over all the Monsanto products we use. After the food sources, this time it is our health products.
Monsanto is publicly traded American multinational agrochemical company, which has recently been in controversy over the past few years for using harmful products like Glyphosate on the processed food products it sells. Unfortunately, the study has shown more stunning evidence of Glyphosate being present in our other essential products, mostly, tampons.
The recent study performed showed that tampons are contaminated with a carcinogenic substance which is clearly unsafe.
March against Monsanto is a movement against the infamous Monsanto corporation. The herbicide named- Glyphosate, it is produced under the brand name Roundup, is found to be a Cancer causing agent.
According to a recent study, the University of La Plata has documented up to 85 percent of all samples of tampons tested, as containing Glyphosate. The "probably carcinogenic" substance, according to the World Health Organization last year, is present in the cotton gauze used in tampons and other considered sterilized health products.
The result of the study performed indicated a serious danger as the cotton that you use for cleaning your wounds or hygienic use are contaminated with Carcinogenic substance. As most of the cotton production in the country is resistant transgenic glyphosate ,that is sprayed when the cocoon is open. Glyphosate is then condensed and passes directly to the product.
These studies caused a stir when presented to The National Congress of Peoples as the findings are worrying at the least. Organic tampons are a option though, even if they are not easily available, it will be a safe move to find them.
