On January 17, 2014, Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Union Minister and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor was found dead in suite no 345 of Hotel Leela Palace, Delhi, under mysterious circumstances. At that time, police suspected this to be a suicide, but it wasn't ruled out as she was undergoing medical treatment.
After four years, on May 14, the Delhi police filed a charge sheet against Shashi Tharoor accusing him with abetment of suicide in the death of his wife. Now, on June 5, Delhi's Patiala House Court finally observed the charge sheet and ordered Shashi Tharoor to be present in the court for the trial on 7 July at 10 am.
