Cause something similar happened with a sportsperson recently. And it is not the first time either. We all know how stringent the Middle East is about its rules for women. Iran, being a Muslim country, enforces Islamic law where dress codes are strictly enforced. That includes covering head with a headscarf (hijab) and wearing floor-length dresses as well. 

One must understand that such rules, though normal for its residents, might be a little too strict for others. Strict compliance of such rules might be a bit tough for players who are already working so hard towards their goals. And that is why Indian grandmaster Soumya Swaminathan decided to not participate in the tournament altogether.
