The gorgeous peach, blue and such eccentric shades replaced the traditional red, green and bright pinks of wedding ensemble eventually and we accepted it as a breath of fresh air. Then came a shift in the choli designs – their hem went higher and higher - and we remained unfazed still.
But some things do take us by surprise, or can I say shock! I’ll come to the point in a while but do you remember that green choli with off-white lehenga of Madhuri Dixit in ‘Ham Aapke Hai Koun’ or the golden lehenga donned by Kajol in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’? We loved them! Bollywood buffs have always lauded the traditional Indian dresses and even tried to ape the look. But you know what, lehenga choli is passé or at least some brides-to-be think so.
More and more Indian brides are now opting for something different to make their D-day all the more special. Some choose to dance their way to the stage on some masala songs while some prefer a more candid photo shoot to add to their memory book. But this bride chose to keep it minimal and ditched her lehenga/skirt entirely, like literally!
