Actor Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber took everyone by surprise when on Monday (March 5, 2018) they announced the birth of two adorable boys via surrogacy. It was in July 2017, that the couple had broken the news of adopting their first child Nisha.Becoming parents to an adopted child or planning babies via surrogacy in India, where people are too squeamish to discuss sex with their children is definitely a bold step.“They are surrogate [babies], but our children. Sunny and I both thought of and decided on their names. We are beyond proud of our family and are so excited. We just want to thank everyone and all the support for everything we do in life,” Sunny's husband Daniel was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. And what is worth appreciating is that of late many Bollywood celebrities have opted for it. So, how about we have a look at the list of such celebrities:
Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber recently became proud parents to two baby boys. The actress surprised her fans by announcing the birth of her twin baby boys on Twitter and Instagram.
Happy mother of three, Sunny Leone tweeted, "Just so there is no confusion Asher and Noah are our biological children. We chose surrogacy to complete our family many years ago, and it's now finally complete :) so happy!"Before Sunny Leone, these Bollywood celebrities opted for surrogacy
Famous filmmaker Karan Johar became a proud single father in March 2017. In an interview with The Hindu, Karan Johar said, "I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science."
Karan's daughter is named Roohi which is a rearrangement of his mother’s name Hiroo. Whereas, his son Yash's name has been kept on his late father’s name.
Salman Khan's brother and famous actor, director and producer Sohail Khan married Seema Sachdev Khan in 1998. The couple decided to have their second baby though surrogacy ten years after the birth of their first son, Nirvaan.
Sohail Khan and Seema Khan became proud parents of Yohan Khan in 2011.
Unmarried actor Tusshar Kapoor fathered the newborn in June 2016 using In vitro fertilisation.
Laksshya is the first grandchild of Tusshar’s parents, Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor. According to Indian Express, the proud grandparents said in a statement, "We could not be more excited to be grandparents to Laksshya, and are completely supportive of Tusshar’s decision. Shah Rukh Khan married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991. The couple already had two kids Aryan and a daughter Suhana when in 2013, they became parents of a third child named AbRam.
"I am not overly happy talking about him. He is my baby and nobody else’s. You can come home and see him if I allow you to come in my house," Shah Rukh told PTI in an exclusive interview.
"I am not an actress. I had babies at the age of 43 because sometimes you get so caught up, you are making your life, building your career and maybe you don’t want to get married. For me, to have IVF and someone guiding me like doctor Firuza Parikh, it was a godsend," Farah Khan quoted according to The Hindu.
Farah Khan gave birth to triplets through IVF, daughters Diva and Anya and son Czar.
On December 1, 2011, actor Aamir Khan and his filmmaker-wife, Kiran Rao, welcomed their first-born son using the IVF technique. Though surrogacy at that time was rare in Indian society, the couple announced proudly that they gave birth to their son through surrogacy.
In a letter revealed by TOI written by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, they wrote, "This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty. We were advised to have a baby through IVF-surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well."These parents are well-known celebrities of the nation, and by surrogating kids, they are giving a message that a change in technique doesn't decrease the importance and significance of parenthood.
