Hrithik Roshan has rightly been tagged as the Greek God of Bollywood, all thanks to his killer looks and a persona that can adapt any character. His transformation as Krrish and then as Ethan in the film Guzaarish were both an eye-opener to the fact that the actor can go to great lengths for his roles. Recently, the first look of Hrithik Roshan as the great Mathematician Anand Kumar was released on Twitter and people went gaga over it. Apparently, the actor is the protagonist of the film based on the great IIT mind. Here are some facts and interesting things that everyone must know before they decide to watch the film titled as Super-30.
Be it dancing or acting, the actor works really hard and picks the minute details to excel in the part that he plays. Hrithik's look is very different from all the roles that he has played in the past and he definitely looks like the real-life Anand Kumar in this picture.
Hrithik was clicked by various media portals having a conversation with the great Mathematical mind Anand Kumar. The actor is believed to have taken training to understand every nitty-gritty details about the man, to pick the nuances that just fit at the right place and time. The actor is said to have gone through tremendous physical and emotional preparation for the film.
Hrithik's next release which is scheduled for 2019 is titled as Super-30.The film will be based on the life of Math wizard Anand Kumar who started a programme under the same name to train young minds who are aspiring to be an IITian via the rigorous JEE entrance exam.
Anand started a programme and named it Super-30. The programme was established in 2002 and selects 30 meritorious IIT aspirants who belong to economically backward families. These thirty people are then prepared to crack the IIT-JEE exam. Initially, Anand's mother volunteered to cook for the students while he decided to tutor them and help them.
Anand was a part of famous show Kaun Banega Crorepati in its ninth season. He participated in the show with his former student Anup Kumar and won a prize money worth Rs 25 lakh.
In the first year of Anand's programme 18 out of 30 aspirants could make it to the IIT. In the year 2004, 22 out of 30 students were selected. In 2006, the center had 28 out of 30 students who made it to the IIT. Last year, the programme had 100% success rate and 30 out of 30 students were selected in 2017.
According to an article by ToI, Anand had to face a lot of hardships to make his programme a huge success. One of his staff members was stabbed. In fact, even Anand had to go through an attack which was life threatening for him but his spirit and ability to do better conquered it all.Anand has come out as a magician who turns every student's dream into reality.
"One must appear for tests to understand their strengths and weaknesses. It also helps them understand where they actually stand," he was reported quoting in an interview.
The programme is independently funded by Anand Kumar. Following the success of it, many individuals and institutions came forward to provide aids and better facilities so that more students can be accommodated but the team decided to continue their efforts in their own way and accepted no outsider support.In fact, even Anand Mahindra and Mukesh Ambani approached Anand to fund his coaching classes but the teacher wanted to show that the poor need no help from the rich of the society to succeed in life.
The Anand Kumar biopic is reported to have television actress Mrunal Thakur as the math wizard Anand's wife. It was also reported that Hrithik had suggested Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan's name for the film. Also, the film will be directed by Vikas Bahl.
The first look of the film looks promising, and sources suggest that Hrithik even went ahead and dropped his fitness routine to shed some muscles so that he looks like the teacher who teaches students in slums. The actor has devoted all that he has to be in Anand's shoes and hence the film deserves a watch. That's all people.
