Videsi Jugaad: Times when Popular Hollywood Songs were Copied from Bollywood

Time and again Bollywood has been in the news for copying things from Hollywood, and we have always cribbed about that. Haven't we? Be it movies, songs, action sequences, posters of a film or even an actor's look, Bollywood has been accused enough of it.I think, today, the tables have turned. It looks as if Hollywood is wishing to take some inspiration from Bollywood by first opting this method of desi jugaad (by this I mean copying stuff) and then by actually taking the notes, lyrics or the complete song that Bollywood has created. Here is a list of some of the most popular songs that Hollywood couldn't stop replicating or using as a whole. Hashtag: More power to you Bollywood.

Badtameez Dil: Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

The track and its unique, quirky lyrics had made a lot of noise and Deepika and Ranbir's appearance in the video was a sheer scene-stealer.

Kamera by Simge

Simge had copied the notes and music of the song for her track Kamera and it sounds exactly the same as Badtameez Dil.

Dum Dum: Band Baaja Baaraat

This song starring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh is my favourite. I like to dance to its tunes, but I never knew it inspired singers all the way from Serbia.

Nova Religija by Jelena Karleusa

Serbian pop singer Jelena Karleusa used the popular song and also copied its lyrics in her music album Nova Religija.

Mahi-Mahi: Kismat

Priyanka Chopra's song Mahi-Mahi from the film Kismat gives us a glimpse of how she looked back then, but this song was also copied by a singer of some different nation.

Mahi-Mahi by Viki Miljković

Viki Miljković not only copied this song from the film Kismat, she also retained a step from the original video.

Chaiyya Chaiyya: Dil Se

This famous song featured Malaika Arora and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, and the song literally took the entire generation by storm because of its unique steps and choreography which was done on a train.

Inside Man credits

The end credits of the film Inside Man feature this song as it is. Various stars and cast of the film are introduced to the viewers in this part, and a Hindi song plays in the background.

Chhalka Chhalka Re: Saathiya

This song is from the film Saathiya which had Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji in the lead role. Rani dances to the beats of the song and is also very popular among the audience.

The Accidental Husband

Uma Thurman and Jeffrey Dean Morgan starer film 'The Accidental Husband' has the beginning notes and tunes of the song which perfectly fit the scenario.Cover image source- Badtameez Dil: Amazon news Kamera by Simge: FlickrThat's all, people. If you have something to add to the list let me know in the comment section below, you can also write to me at muskan@wittyfeed.com
