#1 A zebra as horse substitute pulling a carriage.

In Calcutta, India, around 1930, rich people used zebra as horse substitute for pulling a carriage. This was considered to be a sign of royalty. 

#2 First test cricket team.

This was India's first Test Cricket team. The first test match was played in 1932 in England.

#3 The first President of India.

Dr Rajendra Prasad was the first President of the Independent India. This is a picture where Dr Rajendra Prasad can be seen travelling via a horse cart. 

#4 The stars and the players.

Are you able to recognize Shah Rukh Khan, Kapil Dev and Sohail Khan? Amazing, isn't it?

#5 Indians serving the Britishers.

According to Wikipedia, Humayun's Tomb is the first garden tomb build in India. The fun fact about this tomb is that the construction of the fort began in 1565, and got completed in 1572 AD. 

#9 Two Queens together.

This is an unseen and rare picture, in which two Queens, Maharani Gayatri Devi, and Queen Elizabeth can be seen together going for a hunt. 

#10 Taj Mahal during 1850.

This picture of Taj Mahal was captured by Dr John Moore of East India Company. What will fascinate you is that this picture was captured 167 years back. 

#11 The first meeting of Indian Constitution Assembly.

According to the sources, this was the initial meeting of Indian Constitution Assembly, i.e., on 9th December 1946.  

#12 Mumbai's 'Tram'.

You must have heard about the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking in Mumbai. This was during 1907, that the first electric tram debuted in the city brought by BEST. In India, trams still operate in Kolkata. According to Wikipedia, Tams were discontinued in Chennai in 1954 and in Mumbai in 1960.

This is a picture from Peshawar which is now in Pakistan. This was the year 1940 when the signboards were captured signed in Urdu and Punjabi language.
