When it comes to Premier League, Manchester United is synonymous with that name as they’ve won it a record 20 times. Arsenal is synonymous with FA Cup as once again, this year they won it. But when it comes to Champions League, no club flies the English flag higher than Liverpool Football Club.Liverpool are England’s pride and honor in the Champions League and why not? For a club that’s won the trophy a record five times which is more than Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs COMBINED. Such is the nature of their achievement. But Liverpool has fallen short of the European promise everyone expects from them. Courtesy of their final day win, they managed to qualify for the next year’s edition of the Champions League for only the second time in 8 years and now they have managed to do so, they are targeting players who can be a great addition to the match day squad for the Champions League.Someone like Salah, Scroll down to know more.
May 25 2005: as the referee blew the half-time whistle, the scoreboard read AC Milan 3 – 0 Liverpool. Few Liverpool fans left the stadium, many switched off their televisions but the majority still believed. After the half time, Liverpool scored 3 goals and won the finals on penalties. Such is the kind of belief which is in the Kop blood, the never say die attitude. And who better man to spearhead this team than Klopp.
Jurgen Klopp’s feat with Borussia Dortmund has been nothing short of extraordinary as he led the side to multiple Bundesliga titles and a Champions League finals. Klopp’s passion combined with his tactics and touchline antics has been a treat to watch so is his heavy metal football style.
One player who fits perfectly into the heavy metal football philosophy is Mohamed Salah. Salah has been linked with a move to Reds for quite some time only to see it been hijacked by Chelsea FC. Now after a few years, Reds have shown their interest in the Egyptian winger again and this time it seems, a move is imminent.
One word – penetration. Salah has devastating pace, combine that with the close control ability and the timing of runs behind the shoulder of the full back, he’s an ideal target for the defense splitting diagonal pass which is Jordan Henderson’s specialty. Add to the fact he’s still young and has Champions League experience, he’s ideal for Liverpool.
According to Reports in Italy, Salah and Liverpool have already agreed upon personal terms the only thing remaining is the fees to be negotiated between the two clubs involved. Liverpool has already tabled a £28 million bid while Roma is holding out for £35 million.
Salah has Premier League experience too! – although from the bench. In 2014, Jose Mourinho brought him to England, only to bench him as he couldn’t move ahead of Willian and Hazard in the pecking order. Salah's stint was unsuccessful with Chelsea which eventually led to his sale.
