"The Motorcycle Diaries" is based on a book of the same name written by Che Guevara. The film follows a 23-year-old young man as he embarks on an unforgettable journey on his bike. The movie showcases the journey that lasts for eight months during which he travels over 14,000 kilometers, from Argentina through Chile, Peru, and Colombia to Venezuela. "The Beach" is probably one of the finest performances by Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie revolved around a man in search of an island and was filmed on the Koh Phi Phi island of Thailand.

"Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" is a story of three childhood friends who go on a trip across Europe and fight their worst fears. The movie has Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif as lead stars.

"Midnight in Paris" is a fantasy comedy film. In the movie, a writer finds himself travelling back to 1920's every midnight, as the city of Paris casts its charm on him. The film explores the theme of nostalgia and modernism.

#7. Queen, 2014

"Queen" is an Indian comedy-drama film starring Kangana Ranaut, Lisa Haydon, and Rajkumar Rao. The film tells the story of Rani (Kangana Ranaut), a diffident Punjabi girl from Delhi, who starts on her pre-planned honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam after her fiance calls off their wedding.  

#8. How Much Further, 2006 

"How much further" is an Ecuadorian film directed by Tania Hermida. The plot of the movie follows two travellers who meet several people during their hitchhiking journey from Quito (Ecuador) to Cuenca. While travelling, they also realise some truths about life.

#9. Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani, 2013

"Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani" is an Indian romantic comedy-drama film. It stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. In the movie, a young man (Ranbir) falls in love with a beautiful woman (Deepika) during a trek to the hills in Northern India. Later, the man is faced with the dilemma of listening to his heart or following his dream of travelling. The movie was filmed in India, Paris and France.

"The Bucket List" is an American comedy-drama film, starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The movie is about two terminally ill men who escape from the cancer ward and make a bucket list of all things they want to do before they die. The movie was filmed in India, Egypt, China, USA, France, and Tanzania.

#11. Tamasha, 2015

"Tamasha" is an Indian film that features Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The movie was shot in Corsica, Shimla, Delhi, Kolkata and also Tokyo. The film is a story of a man (Ranbir) in three stages – as a nine-year-old child, a 19-year old adolescent, and a 30-year old adult.  It also shows him struggling with a major identity crisis. He then meets a stranger (Deepika) in Corsica, who helps him discover his true passion in life.

"Tracks" is an Australian drama film starring Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver. The film is about an Australian girl who in search of peace and solitude goes on a 1,700-mile trek with four camels and her faithful dog across the deserts from Alice Springs.

"Before Sunrise" is an American romantic drama film. An American man meets a French woman on a train in Europe. The two of them hit off and spend an entire day together in Vienna and fall for each other. 

#14. The Darjeeling Limited, 1997 

"The Darjeeling Limited" is a story of three brothers, who haven't communicated each other for a year, following the death of their father. They embark on a train, to travel to India with the intention of bonding with each other and also to find themselves. It is an American adventure comedy-drama movie starring Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson. This travelling film also highlights India's beautiful chaos, cultures, and colours.

#15. The Leap Year, 2010 

"The Leap Year" is an American romantic comedy film starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode.In the movie, a young woman, Anna Brady (Amy Adams) plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland to propose marriage to her boyfriend Jeremy (Matthew Goode) on a leap day. She does that because, according to Irish tradition, a man who receives a proposal on a leap day has to accept it.
