On May 13, US President Donald Trump accidentally typed the word "WE" on his Twitter handle, and the world made fun of him. It was reasonable, unintentional and above all, didn't put America at risk. But, not all mistakes can be ignored.Washington Post has published a report which has made shocking revelations about Trump's meeting with Russian ministers and ambassador on May 10, 2017."President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former US officials who said Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State," report stated. The information which Trump shared with Russia was received by intelligence agencies of a country, which is a US ally. As per reports, the intelligence agencies of the ally country did not want US to share its information with Russia. Experts said Trump's move is a non-diplomatic move, which will prevent ally country to share information with US in future. Have a look at the whole story.
The US officials who were familiar with the terminology said that the information shared was the "the code-word information," which is used by American spy agencies for the highly classified information."Trump revealed more details to Russian ambassadors than America has shared with its allies," say sources.
Everything seems to be interconnected.Trump has been facing a lot of pressure from FBI on Russia-related issues. Following which, President Trump fired the seventh Director of FB James Comey last week.Sources reveal that majority of the people still believe that Trump fired Comey over the Hillary Clinton's emails controversy. But, is it the real reason? Or did he fire Comey because he was currently involved in "the Russia thing?"
Exactly a day after firing Comey, President Trump welcomed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak at the Oval Office, White House.
Discussing Islamic State wasn't on the agenda of the meeting. But Trump, 70, went entirely off the page and started explaining details about ISIS that America's close ally had shared with US intelligence agencies. Reports say that it was something related to the use of laptop bombs on aircraft by Islamic State.
"The president and the foreign minister reviewed common threats from terrorist organizations. It included threats to aviation," H R McMaster said.He said further, "At no time were any intelligence sources or methods discussed, and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly," reports BBC.
A former US official, who is close to US officials, said, "It is shocking, Trump seems to be very reckless and doesn’t grasp the gravity of the things he’s dealing with, especially when it comes to intelligence and national security. And it’s all clouded because of this problem he has with Russia."
Earlier, White House administration bans US media from attending daily press briefings and press conferences, whereas Russian photographers were welcomed.Had Hillary Clinton shared such highly classified information with Russians, the Republicans would have demanded her impeachment urgently.A US senator Dick Durbin has described President Trump's action as, "Dangerous and reckless." Connect them and one gets a different picture of Trump.
As usual, he danced away all the allegations and called all the mainstream media as false and fake.WittyFeedians, what's your take on the entire story? Share your views in the comment box below. That's all, folks!Subscribe
