Should Donald Trump Worry Over Hillary's Bid To Re-Enter Politics?

Democrat and US presidential election nominee Hillary Clinton would have created history had she become the first woman president of the United States. But her Republican rival Donald Trump broke her dream and clinched the victory. In the last year's presidential elections, Hillary won the popular vote by a significant margin of nearly three million votes but faced defeat as she lost the electoral votes to Donald Trump. This defeat shocked her as it was a huge setback to her campaign. Most of the liberals launched nationwide protests against Trump. After her defeat, speculations were rife that Hillary Clinton’s political career has already peaked and has come to an end. But surprising everyone, Hillary Clinton has announced her comeback to the politics with a strong message. Her announcement has shocked her rivals as it was an unpleasant surprise for them. Read on to know more about it.

Hillary Clinton is making her comeback into politics, six months after facing a humiliating defeat at the hands of President Trump. She is returning with a new political action group focused on encouraging people to run for the office and increase their involvement in their communities.

Her group is named “Onward Together” and she announced its launch on Twitter. She posted the link to the website of the group which carries the slogan “Resist, insist, persist, enlist”. Onward Together will encourage people to organize, get involved, and run for office.

"From the Women's March to airports across the country where communities are welcoming immigrants and refugees to town hall meetings in every community, Americans are speaking out like never before," Clinton emailed. "I believe more fiercely than ever that citizen engagement at every level is central to a strong and vibrant democracy," she said.

Clinton describes the group as "an organisation dedicated to advancing the progressive vision that earned nearly 66 million votes in the last election. Onward Together will work to build a brighter future for generations to come by supporting groups that encourage people to organise and run for office."

Clinton stepping back into the political ring is definitely a sign of worry for Trump as millions of voters still back Hillary. With Clinton being more vocal and active now, President Trump will be cornered by the media and critics as he might have to answer a lot more questions.

Hillary Clinton said the new political action group will support some organisations as she gave a list of them. This includes `Swing Left`, an organisation which works to help Democrats in “regaining the majority in the House of Representatives” for the midterm elections to be held in 2018. Another organisation is `Run for Something`, which aims to encourage young people and help them in running for office. `Emerge America` is another such organisation which has a very specific goal. It works to put women members of Democratic party in the office by helping them to contest presidential elections.

"This year hasn't been what I envisioned, but I know what I'm still fighting for a kinder, big-hearted, inclusive America. Onward!" Clinton wrote.

Clinton disappeared from the spotlight after her shocking defeat and remained out of the media attention. Now, she has stepped up the rhetoric in past few months against the Trump administration and their policies.

Earlier this month during an interview with CNN Anchor Christiane Amanpour, Hillary Clinton said she identifies herself as “a part of the resistance”.

"This show has prompted important conversations about women’s rights and autonomy. In The Handmaid’s Tale, women’s rights are gradually, slowly stripped away. As one character says, ‘We didn’t look up from our phones until it was too late,’” Clinton said at an event which was widely covered by US media. “It is not too late for us,” she remarked and added that advocates need to "keep fighting."
