"I Was Gay All My Life", Says 95-Year-Old Grandfather Who Is Looking For A Relationship With A Man Now

Roman Blank, the 95-year old great grandfather, made a shocking revelation to his family last year. Blank who lives in Los Angeles in US said he had been a gay all his life.He confessed this in a recent interview given to YouTube vlogger Davey Wavey.Read his shocking revelation below.

Meet Roman Blank.

American Holocaust survivor, Roman Blank, 96, has been married to a woman named Ruth for 67 years now and is a proud father of two, grandfather of five, and great-grandfather of one.

His married life.

Blank and Ruth courted each other before deciding to tie the knot in 1948 in Poland. They moved to Brooklyn shortly after. They are still in love with each other.

When did he discover about his sexual orientation?

Blank told Davey that he had discovered about his sexual orientation at the age of five. “To be gay was a crime, and you were condemned to choose either suicide or life in a closet. But I decided to live.”

Did his family know his secret?

Ruth learned about her husband being a gay soon after giving birth to their second daughter in 1953 but never left his side. She held on to the secret for 65 years when finally the couple broke the news to their children and grandchildren last year."I just told them plain that I was born, and was all my life, gay," he told Davey. "And then I told them the whole tragedy of my life." The best part is that his family understood what he has been through.

Does he plan to look for a boyfriend now?

After pouring his heart out, Blank is now looking for his first open relationship with another man at the age of 96. When Davey asked his type and preference, Blank was candid. “I don’t care! I don’t look at their face - I look at their heart," he remarked.Blank said he isn’t expecting any mental or physical connection now but he wants to be close to someone and sleep with someone, just to be sure that someone really cares. However, Blank knows that it isn’t easy to find someone at this age, “For you, it's easy to find. For me, I'm too old already. Who needs an old junk?"

A documentary being made by his grandson.

Blank and his grandson Brandon Gross are working on a documentary on his life called `On My Way Out' to share the story with everyone.Gross is keenly working on this project and wrote on a website, "Their lives have been filled with darkness, but somehow, their remarkable spirits allowed them to persevere and succeed in America."

What does Davey have to say about this?

Davey told Mirror Online: "Roman's story is very complex. On one hand, it's the triumphant story of a 95-year-old man coming out of the closet - and shedding the weight of a nine-decade secret. That is certainly something worth celebrating. On the other hand, Roman's story is also deeply emotional and, at times, quite difficult. At some level, it's the story of lost opportunities.”Davey wonders on how Blank’s life would have shaped up had the circumstances been different. Perhaps, his story could have had a different ending."And you also feel for Roman's wife. While they undoubtedly loved each other in a deep way, both Roman and his wife deserve passion and sexual intimacy. Did they have that despite Roman being gay? I don't know,” says Davey. It is only human to feel or expect someone to love you, irrespective of the complexity of your life or story. There is a yearning for warmth and love in all of us. Roman Blank is just another human who wants to feel that love. He is but a reflection of humanity, a reflection of us!
