Malala Yousafzai, probably 'the most famous teenager in the world' turns 18 this Tuesday, July 12, 2016. The Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the local Taliban for attending a school has become an international sensation and is promoting education for women in her native Swat Valley in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest PakistanThe Yousafzai family currently lives in Birmingham, UK and Malala is making a lot of money there. With the mass popularity and selling of the Noble Peace Prize Winner's book, I Am Malala, a lot of money followed the former blogger for BBC Urdu. He Named Me Malala, the documentary based on her encounters with Taliban and other issues in her native country Pakistan received a bewildering response worldwide.
Malala, and her parents, Ziauddin Yousafzai and Toor Pekai Yousafzai are shareholders in Salarzai, which is a separate entity from her Malala Foundation, which handles her charity endeavours for female education. The company reported a pre-tax profit of £1.1 million this year.
Over 1.8 million copies were sold and that incresed Malala's popularity even more.
Earlier in 2014, Malala donated $50,000 from her Nobel Peace Prize money to rebuild a school in Gaza.
