There has been a huge controversy recently regarding the use of bathrooms by the transgender community. While some people are of the opinion that transgenders should use the bathrooms according to the gender they're born with, some believe that it's the gender they transitioned into that should be taken into account. Several social activists have proposed the idea of having unisex bathrooms to end gender discrimination, but one cannot overlook the possibility of sexual abuse and pedophilia that comes along with it. Recently Tony Romo was arrested for using the men's bathroom in Florida.Read to know the shocking details:
The statewide policy bans individuals from using public bathrooms that do not correspond to their biological sex and prohibits cities from passing anti-discrimination ordinances to protect gay and transgender identity, per CNN.
“It’s dangerous, and it goes beyond bathrooms" claim the protesters. They feel that the law discriminates against transgender people.
The police detained him purely based on the suspicion of the bystanders who felt that Romo was a transgender man and didn't belong in the men's restroom.
“It was a dead giveaway,” said officer Mike Roseman. People started suspecting Tony to be a woman who identified herself as a man.
Trans-phobia in California has become worse, now that a man who was biologically born a male is now being kicked out of men's restroom.
”I don’t know what I was thinking. I could have sworn I saw the proper sign, but it was apparently something else. I have a hard time reading things. It happens a lot. Even off the field. Bathroom signs? Try defenses.” He added, “I was just trying to carry on with my business when you guy’s intercepted me.”
