This Look Back On Controversial B-Grade Movie Actress Mandakini Is Shocking

Bollywood has seen a lot of misplaced words, unintended sarcasm, several intents to creating a controversy over the years. These stars, they just love to stay in the news, even if it is for the wrong reasons. Apart from all the serious discussions, there's one actress that comes to my mind every time I think about controversies.Mandakini being a yesteryears actress whose known for starring in movies like  Raam Teri Ganga Maili, Tezaab, Jeete Hain Shaan Se and many more was not only gorgeous at her time but was really controversial. In 1990, Mandakini married Dr. Kagyur T. Rinpoche Thakur,

Her husband was known to be a former Buddhist monk and had gained fame in his childhood as a child artist Murphy Radio advertisements. She has a son and a daughter.

Mandakini's real name is Yasmeen Joseph.

She was born in an Anglo-Indian family. Her father, Joseph was British and her mother was Muslim.

Mandakini's first movie was a Bengali film.

Later on, she was seen in 2 Bollywood movies though they couldn't give her the publicity she was aiming for.

It was only when Raj Kapoor casted her in his film opposite his youngest son.

The movie was a huge hit at the box office. Mandakini was merely 16 when she did this movie and bagged a Filmfare nomination as well.

Although the movies brought Mandakini all the limelight. The reasons were pretty controversial.

While there was a scene where Mandakini was seen wearing a flimsy white saree while bathing in a waterfall, the saree was pretty transluscent. Apart from this, she was also seen breast feeding a child in the movie.

She had other successful movies as well.

There were rumors all over the industry about Mandakini dating gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

In 1994, pictures of her and Dawood together also caused a stir. However, Mandakini denied all rumors linking her to Dawood.

Although in an interview she admitted being friends with the gangster.

After all this happened, Mandakini's career took a bad turn.
